Bedlam is from the middle English word Bedlam which was short for Bethelehem. O that our home was as peaceful as the Bethelehem we all think of. Bedlem was also the popular name for the Hospital of St. Mary of Bethlehem, London, an insane asylum. Now we are getting closer to the truth.
